When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
When 24 hours in a day is not enough;
remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

Tools to Market You

Marketing tools are critical for every actor, business person and anyone that needs to connect to the public.  Those tools include business cards, postcards and websites.  Take a look at some great examples of Angel Aramboles' work:

Great Organization for Parents

This is a fantastic organization for parents of child actors.  Their site and newsletter are a plethora of valuable information.  Get connected.  Enjoy!

Emmy Award-winning Director Mary Lou Belli

Louder! Faster! Funnier!!! Laughter is good medicine and TV has provided the Sit-Com to administer that medicine.

Your Complete Guide to "The Type Specialist," Mark Atteberry...

"Successful actors have mastered the art of knowing and being who they are. Unfortunately, most actors have no idea who they are, how they're perceived, or how to "be themselves." They're too busy trying to be what they think the casting director, agent or director wants them to be." - Mark Atteberry

"Don't end up on the casting floor!  The "Be a Working Actor" Technique is unique in that it is built around the premise of how to book work, not just learn the art of acting or how to master a particular acting technique.  Ours is a hands-on approach that trains you exclusively to be a Working Actor in Hollywood." -Mark Atteberry

Create Your Brand

Do you have your marketing tools together?  If someone puts your name in google - will they find you? How are you presenting yourself?  Are you taking an active role in promoting yourself?

These are the 5 tools that every actor needs:

Is it a SCAM?!

If I had a dime for every time we received an email or call about this topic – I would have A LOT of dimes.

One of the most recent calls was about an event coming to town with lots of fancy, legit industry names.  Priced over $400 bucks and geared towards helping you “achieve stardom.” Oh boy.   At least this actor was able to get her $$$ back.

Remember these things:

Survival Jobs

You have made the decision to pursue acting.  You are excited and ready to start classes, get headshots and get booked.

There’s one problem.  You have a full time job, rent/mortgage and list of other things that will continue to need your attention, whether you are pursuing your dream or not.

You have got to take care of home first.  You’ve gotta eat.  What do you do?

Actor or Celebrity?

You would not believe the types of calls we get.

"Actors Info Booth, this is Lisa, how can I help you?"

"Hi.  I want to be in a film.  The kind that shows in the theatre.  Who can I talk to about that?"  Hmmmm.  Or....

"If I take this class, can I get discovered?"  OK.  And...

"Do you know (insert celebrity name, here)?  I need to get in contact with him/her because everyone tells me I should be on TV, so if I could just get seen by the right person, I'd..."

Do you want to be a Actor?  Or a Celebrity.  Because there is a difference.
