Raymond Forchion - Intensive Retreat
============================
May 16-18, 2008
Friday - 7pm - 1am
Saturday & Sunday - 10am to 1am
*Limited to 14 participants* - $350
You will feel energized like never before, so be ready to devote the entire weekend to exploring your craft. Please do not consider this retreat if you can not commit. You will have scenes with other actors. You owe it to them and quite frankly - you owe it to yourself to be fully present and in the moment!
Raymond Forchion, Award winning actor, writer, producer and director, headed the Screen Actors Guild LA Casting Committee for six years. He has done several pilots and TV movies, and he has co-starred on such series as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Golden Girls, Will and Grace, Wiseguy, In the Heat of The Night, and had recurring roles on General Hospital, and Miami Vice. He has starred on stage and in almost 100 commercials. With several screenplays under his belt, Raymond is a produced writer, and associate produced the Oscar nominated Last Breeze of Summer. Raymond has given his exciting Motivational Acting Seminars around the country and has coached working actors for over fifteen years.
Philosophy: Mr. Forchion believes the secret of acting is that there is no secret. The craft of acting must be de-mystified and made more practical and immediate. Acting is a state of being and action, not of introspection and self indulgence. No Mumbo Jumbo! Raymond gets the performer out of his own head and allows him to be presented to the marketplace. Raymond’s philosophy is that an actor has to keep active and visible. Actors also need to be nurtured. The business beats us up enough. The greatest actor in the world if he or she is unseen, is often considered bad as the worst.
SEMINAR OBJECTIVES
OBJECTIVE A: To increase the actor’s confidence and ability to take more risks in the work.
OBJECTIVE B: To sharpen the actor’s ability to analyze the script quickly and create a believable character.
OBJECTIVE C: To explore the differences between stage and film technique in acting and auditioning.
OBJECTIVE D: To stimulate and instill new fire and passion and performance power in the more experienced actor.
OBJECTIVE E: To aid the performer’ s career development.
OBJECTIVE F: To familiarize Commercial talent, Models, Stage and newer actors with practical techniques and cold reading skills that will make them more employable.
$350.00 - **LIMITED to 14 students. 5 spots left! Call Lisa/Laura to 954.731.4888 to sign up!!!

West Palm - film short, “The Other Woman” - May 7, 2008
============================================
Los Angeles based director with a film in the Delray Beach Film Festival (www.screwcupidthemovie.com) has been asked to participate in their Script to Reel competition. Short film “The Other Woman” to be shot on location in West Palm and Delray Beach during May 5, 6, and 7th and then screened at the festival on May 10th. There is no pay but a great opportunity to collaborate on a short with professional locations, equipment, crew, and post-production and no time to do it in. It will be a super fun, crazy shoot and the director has plans to shoot his next feature in and around Florida as well.
Breakdown:
A man’s plan to use the ex-girlfriend of his wife’s killer to get close to him and exact revenge backfires when he has second thoughts about involving her further in his plan and is ultimately captured by the killer who had been following him the whole time.
BECKY: MID -20s, attractive, vulnerable, had been through some bad relationships, the worst of which was her ex Billy and thought that Jack was a relief from all of that. She tries to portray herself as cool and slightly hardened but is very scared and confused.
BILLY: 20s-30s, hard, rough, brutish, unremorseful, sociopathically evil, masochistic, there is not an ounce of sophistication or education to him. He is brute force, full speed ahead, demolition derby of all emotion and no thought. He killed Jack’s wife and intends to do the same with Jack and Becky.
TRAVIS: 20s - 30s, clean cut, straight-laced, police friend of Jack’s. Believes that everything has a just, honest, and right way of being done and that those wishing to right wrongs can do so best using the proper channels of authority and law. Tries to be the voice of reason in changing Jack’s mind from hunting Billy on his own. Travis ultimately makes a choice between doing things by the book or helping his friend.
WOMAN: 20s, ethereal, beautiful, must be able to convey deep emotions solely in looks and gazes. Non-speaking role but intensely important to the story.
Please e-mail headshots, resumes, contact information, and links to any reels or work that can be seen online. dbffcontestcasting@live.com
