If LA is your goal, or you have just been thinking about it - THIS SEMINAR is for YOU! Knowledge is POWER!!!
The five questions actors want to know about Los Angeles:
How do I prepare for the big move?
When is the right time to move?
What do I do when I arrive in LA?
How do you get acting work in Los Angeles?
When is the right time to get an agent and manager?
You will receive handouts of the Los Angeles areas to live and the important free email newsletters as well as the best casting sites and groups to join when you move! She will discuss demo reels, the currents trends and how to produce them.
Judy will also talk about the right materials for the Los Angeles market.

Weekend Acting Workshop w/ Judy Kerr (on-camera)
October 26-28, 2007
Friday: 7:30pm to 10:30pm (included in the weekend price!)
Saturday: 10am to 6pm
Sunday: 10am to 6pm
$350
www.actingiseverything.com
www.judykerr.com
(ages 18 and up)
Are you looking for real feedback, notes you can take back and use to improve your craft? This is the workshop! You will work with monologues as well as scene work. Judy gets to the heart of what may be holding you back and lets you know how you can improve. She will challenge you and give you notes to take it to the next level - don’t miss her!!
Homework: to prepare for the weekend– watch Angelina Jolie’s performance in “Gia”, Meryl Streep’s performance in “Bridges of Madison County” and “The Notebook”. be familiar with the TV series, “Lost” and the feature film, “Knocked Up”. Create a list of parts or actors you see yourself playing. This is for marketing and how you will be cast, your niche. If you don’t know we will decide on some for you. I will want to see your list to see if you see yourself as I do.
What to Bring: Your lunch, snacks and water. Sweater if you get cold. Pictures and resumes. (2) MINI DV tapes. All of your performances and your feedback will be recorded for you to take home. You will be on-camera for all of your scene work so make sure to wear/bring flattering clothes/colors. You will want your make-up and hair to look good, too.
There will be a couple of 15 minute breaks and maybe a 20 minute break mid-day but the majority of the time will be spent working.
All of your work will be on camera. I will have handed out day-player scripts and monologues ahead of time. The monologues must be memorized and rehearsed if you wish to show them to me. You don’t have to do a monologue unless you want to. Everyone will do a prepared day-player script on Saturday and a scene on Sunday. We will use a timer, each actor will receive the same amount of time during all of the weekend’s events for acting and career instruction.
*Judy may want to use snippets of your work from the weekend on her website/myspace, so there will be a release for you to sign to OK the use of your footage.
Acting Instruction – Auditioning and Behavior - Saturday 10am to 6pm
We will be viewing private, behind the scene tapes that demonstrate acting techniques. There will be One on One interviews with me talking about your picture, resume and your type – how you will be cast. We will spend today working on prepared monologues and day-player scripts. Q & A
Relaxation and an Acting Exercise - Sunday 10am to 6pm
Day 2 will be spent working on prepared two-person scenes. Each actor will perform on camera alone, with your partner acting with you, off camera. Judy will give you feedback and adjustments and scenes will be taped.
We will also shoot some short scenes to help you start creating your demo reel by looking at the types of characters/scenes you would want to use in marketing yourself. Q & A. Call Lisa or Laura today to sign up! 954.731.4888
