In this Sitcom Boot Camp you will learn:
· Scott’s Eight Characters of Comedy
· How to break down a Sitcom/Dramedy script
· How to identify and deliver a joke
· How to find your “Comedic Note”

“Dying’s easy. Comedy is hard.” Old adage, but so true. The most common misconception about acting in TV Comedies is that it should be played broad, slap-sticky or over the top. On the contrary, there is a specific craft to Sitcom Acting. And the truth is, it may be more challenging that dramatic acting. Scott Sedita’s Comedy Intensive, based on his best-selling book, “The Eight Characters of Comedy”, is a specially designed “Comedy Boot Camp”, where actors learn how to break down a comedy/dramedy script, identify different types of jokes and deliver them with comedic precision. Most importantly, actors are introduced to Scott’s “Eight Characters of Comedy”, eight specific character archetypes which helps actors find their comedic niche in half-hour comedy. The Comedy Intensive lays the foundation for the work that lies ahead and is a pre-requisite to joining any on-going On-Camera TV & Film Comedy class.

A few of the EIGHT CHARACTERS OF COMEDY include….
· Who is normally cast as The Logical Smart One?

· Why do we love The Lovable Loser?

· Why is The Neurotic such a fun character to play?

· How can you realistically play someone In Their Own Universe?

The Eight Characters of Comedy answers all of these questions and more! After reading this book, you WILL be ready to work in the exciting world of situation comedy.
