We need a new experimental avant-garde theatre troup in Tampa.
We need good people; experienced activists, actors, artists and writers in their 20s-30s, and of all ages, to collaborate on our own short scripts, promotions, and short theatre/video productions.
We need a theatre that will not be showing the five billionth performance of a historical drama, to a dying audience, or the six billionth run of ‘the importance of being earnest’.
We need a theatre that can subtly promote politcally subversive ideas, promote peace, and teach as we entertain.
We need a theatre that is community based and will promote itself through public access and underground art channels.
We all would share equally in production costs and profits.
The idea is that we take to the streets, and book venues where theatre does not normally take place. For example, a street corner, a bus, a supermarket, a pub, a park. Invisible Theatre is an inspiration. Anything, to get us away from the old theatre and its dying audience.
About me - I’m a 29 year old master’s level actor, who has studied at an acting conservatory in London. I’ve directed and acted in productions in London and New York. I grew tired of theatre’s dying audience and began creating self-destructing animatronic actors. they can be seen at www.crashingart.com
